And so let's examine 'self-evident' truths, aphorisms, maxims, diktats, dogmas, and the general content of everyday conversation and subject them to some examination.
Finish your food – no longer relevant when the costs of the 'excess food' in terms of weight loss, systematic overeating, and overall weight-related mental health are forbidding. Replace with Michael Pollan's Timeless: 'Eat Food. Not too much. Mostly plants". ‘Food' in this case refers to stuff made by real people from scratch. Not chemical analogs of what passes for food, eg: Processed foods.
Leave well enough alone a.k.a If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Certainly not. It is very much in the spirit of scientific inquiry to break what's been fixed and then reinvent it. Replace with 'Display Dedicated Dissatisfaction" After all there was a perfectly good wolf. Now, look at their versions!!!
The power of age and experience. Needs major goodbye. Respect yes. Worship-No. Age and experience are major impediments in several areas. Replace with: A century is sometimes one year of experience repeated 100 times. See the sort of stuff absolute newbies with NO experience are doing. And by the way: ownership of ultra-expensive equipment is no longer the hegemony it was!!
Education vs. Institutionalised Literacy. At its extremes, one can be literate but uneducated and vice-versa. Education does not necessarily need institutions. Replace with: Drop-outs are just as (even more) successful!!

The customer is king. Nope, nix, zilch, nada. With the complexity of things today, both goods and services, the ability to pay do not automatically make one a King or a Queen. And the necessity to receive coin does not restrict marketers' role-play to that of abject subjects.
Organizations: Associations, B-Corporations, Companies ...all the way to Yards and Zoos need to substantially educate customers on everything in the entire consumption value chain from need recognition to purchase, use, maintenance and disposal. Not actively doing so risks the same dangers as sex education: if not offered formally, it will be learned from the worst possible source: their peers. Replace with: Experience Monarchy Together!

Historically people have feared magic. Science and Technology are magical tools. Like every other 'tool'; skill, uses, and intended purpose is in the hands of the user. Nothing is inherently good. Nothing is inherently evil. Ignorance is. Totally. Replace with: The hand that uses a tool needs a head that understands it.
Plant-based _________ is safe. Choose foods, cosmetics, nutritional supplements…. Nope. Extraordinary poisons like Cicutoxin (Hemlock), Ricin (Castor), Atropine and Scopolamine (Belladonna), Trematol (Snakeroot), Albrin (Rosary Peas), Neriine, and Oleandrin (Oleander) are all from plants. Heroin, Opium, Morphine (Opium Poppy), Cocaine (Coca) Psychedelic Mushrooms are also all plant-based. Safe is safe. Plant-based need not be safe. Replace with: Plants are NOT stupid enough to be defenseless!!!
